Nicaragua

the route to nicaragua...a long time ago

I have been so busy since we came back that I finally picked up a draft I did on the road!
la ruta con el actor Marko and la star Nubia!

We were not sure how many miles we drove because neither the ac worked , nor the spedometer for 2 weeks!
But we imagine that we did around 2000 km at 40 km an hour for 2 weeks, through mountain ranges, rain forests, fog, rain, empy roads and crowded villages. Bob and Marko sang all the way while nubia and I slept all the way!
It took us for ever to get nowhere.
BUt the  journey was the highlight not the destination!
My vacation really consisted on sitting in the back of a car ( a four wheel nissan) and doing nothing, waiting at borders hoping to pass or to be send back for an 8 hour detour....
Sitting in the back of a car for 7 days did take us back 100 years in time.
Granada, nicaragua was the higlight: empty street , colonial buildings , nice people, charming hotel and nothing to buy.
The big disapointment was Boca del Toro in Panama:
Beaches...yes small out of town...town...yes..but for 18 year olds..I fell really old
and expensive for nothing!
however waterways as in venice..pretty! but San blas Islands worth a millionn time more to visit.
Joco Costa rica: we found a nice villa with great pools..but the beach was a"basura" poubelle, garbage! and you have the pleasure to see real  local coasta rican washing themselves on the beach....a real horror. However the town is really cute
Marko and nubia were the nicest but we were all loco to try to do this trip in 2 weeks when most people take 6 weeks
Boquete Panama was just great and next to panama city we ended up on a deserted beach..that was the icing on top of the cake
I still love panama ! I only have one wish...never to sleep in David anymore...the center of the country!
