Ghent. Has really all bruges has to offer but it’s just not so crowded with tourists. It’s a real town with a canal , a castle in the middle of town and an amazing painting in st bavo’s catherdral . I love ghent
Bruges
Bruges: many people go to bruges and must stay overnight in one of the quaint little hotels. The town is very cute but very crowded in the evening. A day trip from brussels is easy. Damme next to it is a bike ride from bruges
Antwerp: is an happening city full of culture, trendy people and great shopping. Night life is also famous
Knokke: famous sea resort with great shopping (open on Sundays) and beautiful beaches when the sun shines.
Liege is a special place to discover . The region is very pretty. The city is going through a huge renewal with new museums, a world famous collection of arms, a high tech design train station ( architect Calatrava) and a crazy night life. Good shopping too.
My favorite restaurant is : le bistrot d’en face www…….
Namur is a romantic town just to stroll around but mostly an hop to discover this region of castle and breweries.
SPA is a turn of the century town where you can find one of the best restaurant in Belgium: l’Art de vivre
The ambiance is very retro. You will appreciate the town if you go from April to October otherwise it might be very grey.
