Classical music and theater: free culture
Julliard School
155 W. 65th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue

Check the Calendar of events of the Julliard school at http://www.juilliard.edu/. The school is associated with Lincoln Center. Most of their events are free. Julliard graduates are among the best musicians in the world. The performances are of professional quality and the venues can compete with any concert halls.
For example this week, they have piano, violin, cello, flute, singing recitals.
And their theater division has performances of William Shakespeare of Macbeth and the Merchant of Venice.

ART:
Acquavella
18 E 79 NY
Gagosian Gallery
555 West 24th Street
New York, NY 10011
Hours: Tue-Sat 10-6
This exhibition brings together more than fifty Still Lifepaintings and sculptures from prominent private collections and museums worldwide, and it includes a selection of rarely seen Still Life drawings, many of which are precise sketches for the paintings and sculptures.

OUTDOOR SPACE:
THE HIGH LINE IS REALLY A MUST: AT NIGHT ( CLOSES AT 10 PM) BETWEEN 12 STREET AND 23 STREET?) 11 AVENUE. ENTRANCE NEXT TO THE STANDART RESTAURANT ( COOL BUT SO CROWDED AND NOISY)
ALSO: Riverside Park, Hudson River from 59th to 89th Street.
Forget about Central Park and its crowds. Go down to the Hudson River and its newly developed  Riverside Park. With more than 330 acres of green space along the River, you walk under the salty breeze and you look at the expanse of the shimmering water. There is a café at 67th Street where you can get breakfast, lunch or diner under the shades of umbrellas and trees. The difference between this stretch of park and the one South of 59th Street is that North of 59th Street was never commercially developed. You walk along the water and the highway up, like a suspended bridge. Starting sometime in june, you can kayak for free at different point of the park.
